Sou marque, or 24 deniers. A rare early billon coin used by Canadian and American early colonists. A very interesting coin bearing much history. While not an indigenous coinage, the piece offered was struck specifically for circulation in Nouvelle France (New France). The coins were not well received, as they were overrated based on their weight and not current outside New France. Its been quite some time since we've been able to offer this rare coin.
